Queens of the Stone Age - I Think I Lost My Headache
Rated R (2000)You know why
They called and just let it ring
No reply
The door is open I swear
Ain’t no use in picking up
You know why
It’s all my head I know
So they tell me so
Until my head explodes
Into my head it goes
Tastes so good
Oh, but I knew it would
Tastes so good
Burn like a match house
Medicate just to make you soft
Love is blind
Catch and release me
What the hell were they thinking of?
You know why
It’s all my head I know
So they tell me so
Until my head explodes
Into my head it goesThis is obviously not the original, but it is an absolute scorcher. Josh Homme described it as his favorite track on the album and discussed the meaning of the song:
“Paranoia… when you think something strange is going on, and everyone around you is so adamant about telling you it’s fine… but then you start thinking ‘Wouldn’t that be exactly what you’d say if you didn’t want me to know, and there is something going on?’ And so it’s kind of about that paranoid mentality which maybe I have sometimes.”I completely disagree with people who say the ending/outro ruins the song. It plays perfectly into the paranoid undertones and closes the album in a dynamic way.
“I got a piece to tug.”

Between this song and “Riot In My House” off of Blues Funeral by the Mark Lanegan Band, I have been imagining the new QotSA album as something dark, doomy, and robotic. I really hope it’s like that.
…see technicolor pour from every laceration…
I am ashamed that nearly 10 months have elapsed between when this album came out and I remembered that the Mark Lanegan Band had put it out. This song in particular has me longing for the days when Lanegan was a more regular contributor to QotSA.
I was listening to “In The Fade” with headphones the other day and I realized for the first time that there were three part vocal harmonies in there. Don’t get me wrong, I love Josh Homme’s vocals and Troy’s great at the subtle harmonies that one of QotSA’s trademarks, but I really dug it when there were multiple good lead vocalists in QotSA

After 30 seconds with the right tools, my money’s on not legit. Looks like two completely different registrars and two completely different registrants on the domain names ultravioletrobot.com and the official QotSA website qotsa.com. ultravioletrobot.com is registered to somebody named Vanessa in Denmark. qotsa.com is registered to Interscope. Take that for what you will.http://www.ultravioletrobot.com/
Anybody know if this is legit?
I’m highly skeptical.
